Cove Appliance dishwashers post hazard

June 28 – Approximately 42,000 Cove Appliance 24-inch built-in dishwashers are being recalled because the heater element in the dishwasher does not shut off properly and can overheat, creating a fire hazard. The recalled dishwashers have serial numbers 20000100 to 20044445. The model number, serial number and date code are printed on the nameplate inside the dishwasher. “Cove” is printed on the outside of the door and on the far right of the control panel, which is on the top of the door.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwashers, unplug them from power, and contact Cove Appliance to arrange a free repair. Cove Appliance installs a second thermal shield and replaces the dishwasher’s heating element. The company has received five reports of burning odors, flames and smoking in the dishwashers. No injuries were reported.

They sold for between $ 2,400 and $ 2,500 from February 2018 through May 2021. For more information, call Cove Appliance toll-free at 888-651-9376 3:30 am to 12:00 pm Hawaii time Monday through Friday, email at [email protected], or online at or.
