Fire Sprinklers Caused Section Of Drywall To Collapse At Miami-Dade Apartment Building

Dozens of residents of an apartment building in west Miami-Dade were evicted from their homes Wednesday night after sprinkler systems caused damage.

Miami-Dade police said the sprinklers went off on the fourth floor of the building on the 900 block on SW 57th Avenue and the water seeped into the floor below.

“As soon as the sprinklers went off, the amount of water that fell was enough to put pressure on the floor below.
