From doggy daycare to handyman companies, Citizens Bank issues $15,000 grants to 32 small businesses in Massachusetts
32 small businesses across Massachusetts are receiving $ 15,000 in grants from Citizens Bank, which announced the funding Thursday.
As part of the Small Business Recovery Grant Program, the funds can be used for operating costs in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Businesses range from restaurants in Boston, transportation in Springfield, dog daycare in Saugus, and plumbing in Norwood.
“Small businesses are the heartbeat of the American economy, and we are determined to give them a decisive boost as they battle the economic repercussions of the pandemic,” said Jack Murphy, president of Citizens Bank’s business banking, in a statement.
The $ 480,000 total grants are part of Citizens Bank’s $ 5 million funding, announced last month as part of a commitment to small business amid the pandemic.
In total, Citizens plans to award 134 grants.
