Home Theater Design Tool Can Help You Plan Your Set-up

Audio Advice, a consumer electronics and e-commerce retailer based in Raleigh and Charlotte, NC, has developed a free interactive 3D design tool that models an acoustically correct home theater system with speakers, television or projector and seating for the best listening and viewing experience at home .

Based on complex algebraic algorithms, the patent-pending tool allows users to set their room dimensions and then answer key questions to create a full three-dimensional representation of their space in real time at a fraction of the time and cost of the traditional planning experience.

The Audio Advice Home Theater Designer guides users through the often challenging experience of designing their entertainment space for both acoustics and viewing, whether it is a traditional home theater or living room, family media room or human cave.

The home theater designer tool allows users to determine their room dimensions and then answer questions about the number of seats, the television and projector system, the desired screen size, the number of speakers, and more.

With Sound Scattering View, a customer can see a visual representation of what the audio experience will look like across the room.

As the user enters answers, the system does the complex math in the background to render the room in real time.

If the user changes their system during the process, the program will adapt to provide guidance as to whether the changes can work for that area. The tool also uses Audio Advice’s proprietary immersion level calculation algorithm that allows consumers to determine what screen size is appropriate for their space in order to maximize the immersive viewing. Users can then view the system from where they are seated to visualize the experience and simulate real life.

When the user is done and saved their project, they will receive a full specification report with exact speaker positions, screen size, dimensions and more.

This real-time feedback shows that the front speaker is slightly overlapping the screen and the rear speakers are positioned too close to the wall.

“This home theater designer tool is one of the biggest breakthroughs for home theater enthusiasts, streaming TV fans, entertainment and gaming fans, and ordinary families who don’t know exactly how to get the sound quality for home theater. Said Tommy Jacobs, Vice President of Sales at Klipsch. “Audio Advice is known for its audio and home theater expertise and they have packed that expertise into this extraordinary tool.”

Audio Advice brings the home theater designer to market in conjunction with a full range of home theater design and training tools, including an extensive set of home theater buying guides, a gallery of inspiration, and home theater installation videos.

“People need resources to shape their entertainment configurations. The popularity of DIY home design software gives everyday people the opportunity to take on projects for themselves. The magic of this tool is that when you are comfortable with your report, you can take over your installation. If you need additional help, our service team can guide you through deeper solutions. If you’d like to drop it in for the full installation, we can do that too, ”said Scott Newnam, CEO of Audio Advice. “It’s a great way to connect with consumers, but it’s also a tool that other companies and manufacturers can use with their clients or interior designers with homeowners. We created this to save time and provide help. Because of this, after over a year of designing and building the tool, we decided to make it free. In a year of shortage of gifts, this is our gift to anyone looking to discover a better home entertainment experience. “

The Audio Advice Home Theater Designer tool is now live and completely free to use.
