LG DVLED ‘Extreme Home Cinema’ Wall-sized Display Line Redefines Luxury Home Theater Experience
LG Electronics announced its very first Direct View LED (DVLED) display series, specifically designed for high-end residential installations LG DVLED Extreme home theater.
LG’s foray into the super-luxury residential display segment combines the company’s years of experience building high-quality consumer electronics, its keen understanding of affluent consumers and extensive know-how as an innovator of DVLED technologies.
LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema is unlike any other home display technology and uses 2 million to 33 million individual diodes (depending on resolution) to deliver outstanding performance with exceptional brightness, years of service life, incredible viewing angles, and a very large color space even in Rooms with lots of windows and lots of ambient light. In particular, Direct View LED technology differs visibly and fundamentally from “LED televisions”, which are actually LCD televisions with LED backlighting to increase brightness. Direct View LED technology images are generated directly from the LED diodes and offer high contrast ratio and brightness, producing some of the most vivid images available on a video display today.
LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema offers seamless 16: 9 displays ranging in size from 81 “to 325” diagonals, as well as UltraStretch video wall-style installations that deliver a seamless 32: 9 display ideal for windowing multiple video sources such as live sports suitable.
LG DVLED Extreme Home Theater Displays are only available through a new custom installation dealer program and cannot be purchased in stores. To simplify installation, LG has put together over thirty DVLED Extreme Home Cinema Displays in various sizes and resolutions.
LG DVLED Extreme home theater displays installations include integrator training and customer support; On-site help from an LG field service technician during installation; twice a year LG on-site visit “health checks” for three years; LG Connected Care software subscription that enables the integrator to remotely monitor the system performance of its customers; and a 5-year limited warranty on every display. LG estimates the cost of these items to be around $ 30,000. These benefits only apply to the LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema models and do not apply to All-in-One DVLED Home Cinema models that are pre-assembled and packaged.
The high-end character of the product is even reflected in the shipping process, which uses LG branded flight cases instead of cardboard boxes or wooden boxes, protects the material until delivery and organizes the items delivered.
LG’s unique webOS technology allows simple things like graphics to be stored on the display without the need for WiFi. LG DVLED Extreme home theater displays can also be connected to webOS-compatible content management systems to enable display in multiple windows.
“This truly is the supercar of home display technologies, offering handcrafted quality and performance that appeals to those with a luxurious lifestyle who want something that is not only immersive but also highly exclusive,” said Dan Smith, vice president of LG Electronics USA in charge of DVLED displays. “LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema Display technology has a lifespan of 100,000 hours before reaching half-life, which means it can deliver breathtaking images for over 10 years.
