Local handyman arrested after found at known drug house

Shawn Timothy Byrne

A local handyman was arrested after being found in a well-known drug store with methamphetamine in his pocket.

Shawn Timothy Byrne, 46, owner of Shawn Byrnes Handyman Service, was parked near the drug house on Shadow Hill Drive in Fruitland Park just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. This comes from an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Byrne said he had no ID. During a clap, a MP found a plastic bag in a second plastic bag in Byrne’s front pocket that contained clear crystals identified as methamphetamine.

The Illinois native was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was booked on a $ 3,000 bond in Lake County Jail.

Byrne was arrested last year after attempting to destroy evidence during a traffic obstruction at The Villages. He was arrested in 2016 after fraudulently attempting to return $ 300 worth of paint at Lowe’s in Summerfield.
