“Our pets are members of our family and have in many cases been emotional support as we mastered the various challenges of the past year. As much as we love them, sometimes they can wreak havoc in our homes,” said JB Sassano, president of Mr. Handyman. “Knowing the importance of pets and the role they play in many people’s lives, our professional Mr. Handyman technicians have helped homeowners across the country install pet doors, fix floors, and replace panels and screens to relieve the stress and the long term Decreasing maintenance comes with owning a pet and at home. ”
Additionally, Mr. Handyman offers the following tips to help pet owners with common pet problems:
- Repair chewed drywall: To repair drywall that a puppy or fearful dog may have chewed on, scrape off any loose residue from holes or dents and cover with quick-drying putty knife. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours and hide repairs with some touch-up paint. While small bite holes are easy to camouflage, years of cover damage can eventually lead to uneven drywall.
- Protect the Floor: Pets can damage hardwood floors just by walking on them. Protect your hardwood floor by maintaining claw length and keeping carpets around the house for pets to lie on. Fix minor scratches with floor cleaner and protective coating. Clean the scratch with a damp cloth, scrub the cleaner over the scratch, and then repeat the process with a clean cloth to rinse the hardwood cleaner off.
- Protect wood: Wood is often a target for pets who chew or scratch. The simplest protection plan is to put plastic wrap or PVC tubing around table and chair legs to avoid claw and bite marks. Save doors by adding clear plastic wrap.
“We are very excited to roll out this photo contest for the fifth time during National Pet Month,” said Sassano.
“We pride ourselves on enabling attendees to bask in the collective humor of pet owners by sharing photos and entertaining each other through the wild antics of our pets.”
