New East Windsor shop offers gifts and handyman services

June 2nd – EAST WINDSOR – One of the newest stores in town – Funky Finds – offers unique gifts, home accessories and handicrafts.

Owner Amy Azzara, a South Windsor resident, said her goal for the store was to make it as unique as possible.

“When I shop, I like to find it cheap and something else that not everyone has,” she says.

Azzara said she decided to open the shop in town after struggling to find a place in South Windsor.

LOCATION: 35 S. Main St., East Windsor

OPENING HOURS: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CONTACT: Email [email protected] or call 860-794-1988.

The Pasco Commons store at 35 S. Main St. sells quality refurbished furniture, home decorations, unique gifts and jewelry, signs, jewelry, dishes, lamps, and more, ranging from $ 5 to $ 500 depending on the item.

Azzara also offers craft services and interior painting.

Azzara said the aspect of the business has been slow so far, but she is optimistic it will pick up.

The store officially opened last month after a gentle opening to friends and family on April 24th.

Azzara praised her mom and friends for helping with the opening of the new store.

“One of them is my mother, I couldn’t do it without her. And my best friends, Sarah and Denise. My mother is almost 80 years old, she’s still helping and she’s amazing,” said Azzara.

First Selectman Jason E. Bowsza said the store was versatile and there was something for everyone.

“First of all, there is something for everyone at Funky Finds. It’s a great place to find gifts for holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, ”said Bowsza. “East Windsor welcomes all types of business, small and large. A good business community means families stay in town and that is our goal.”

Azzara said she came from an entrepreneurial family and stated that her mother and father owned a successful clothing store in the 1980s.

In the past, Azzara owned a marketing company and bagel shop in Cape Cod with her brother and sister.
