Officials Believe Fireplace To Blame In Mackinac Island Historic Home Fire – CW50 Detroit

(CBS DETROIT) – There is new information about a massive fire that damaged an iconic Mackinac Island landmark.

The Mackinac Island Fire Department believes a fireplace is to blame.

The fire spread quickly through Brigadoon Cottage on Sunday and burned its way through the roof.

Nobody was injured and the authorities were able to save most of the structure.

The damage, mainly to the roof, is estimated to be more than a million dollars.
