Peninsula Clean Energy has been committed to providing free appliance electrification, energy efficiency, and other repairs and upgrades to income-qualified San Mateo County residents.

The Home Upgrade Program will focus on the critical needs of high-income residents who own single-family homes that use methane or propane for heating or cooking and who otherwise could not afford the repairs and upgrades. These upgrades include both clean electrification and efficiency, as well as other repairs to improve the health and safety of homes.

It will fill in the gaps left by existing income-qualified programs that either fail to fund certain electrification or other health and safety improvements, or do not cover all or most of the cost of the installation. Eligible upgrades include repairing and replacing windows and doors; Repairs of stairs and handrails; replace old carpet with flooring; Removing mold, asbestos and other hazards; and installation of electrical appliances such as B. Water heater and dryer with heat pump. Peninsula Clean Energy’s program will also use other programs to maximize the level of home improvement.

The goal is to support 200 households over a two year period with an expected average budget of $ 6,500 per household data.
